Event: Saturday, October 16

Saturday, October 16, 12:00- 6:00 PM
The Holster with Bryan Graf

The Holster (screen grab)

The Holster is a publishing project organized by Gary Fogelson, Phil Lubliner and Soner Ön. They produce short run artist publications that present a single, focused body of work or document a single event. The methods they use to produce their publications are as important as the work contained inside them.

Between 12-6pm on October 16th, The Holster will be printing, binding, trimming and distributing a book of recent images collected and made by Bryan Graf. The book, conceived and designed in collaboration with Gary Fogelson and Phil Lubliner, presents Graf's process of finding and making images in real time by way of a modular edition that updates itself throughout the course of the day.

Assembly Line Update

Assembly Line with Jing Yu

Assembly Line is headed into it's 5th month and is still going strong!

Teams of volunteer assistants have come together to help artists complete significant portions of larger projects of diverse media and concepts. So far, we have learned how to crochet plastic, cast porcelain, build shelters, draw words, and more.

For up to date descriptions of past workshops, info on participating artists, and photos click here

For more information on the series as well as submission guidelines click here

Assembly Line will continue monthly into the winter. If you have a project you would like to propose or have any questions, contact sally@efanyc.org

A New Grant from The Lily Auchincloss Foundation

EFA Project Space is thrilled to announce that we will be awarded a $5,000 discretionary grant in the end of 2010 from The Lily Auchincloss Foundation which we will put towards further development of our Residency Program for New York City Arts Workers! After the success of its launch this past August, our hunch has been proven that this unique residency program is a vital one. This grant will be an anchor enabling us to move forward, providing space and support New York's workforce of hard working, overextended artists! EFA is extremely grateful to The Lily Auchincloss Foundation for its support and encouragement of EFA Project Space two years in a row.
