Artsministratist?? A Conversation with the 2011/12 Arts Workers as Artists Residents

Last Wednesday, August 8th, EFA Project Space hosted Artsministratist?? A Conversation with the 2011/12 Arts Workers as Artists Residents, marking the end of the 2011/12 Residency.  The "graduating" residents got together to share stories, work, and discuss the particularities of negotiating between an independent art practice and a demanding position at a cultural organization.  Although it means that the 2011/12 residents are moving on, the graduates will coninue to be involved as alumni, and we are looking forward to a Residency exhibition next summer where you might see more of them.  Of course, as the 2011/12 Residency comes to a close, we are also excited to welcome our brand new group of residents for the 2012/13 Residency!

Check out some photos from the event below:

Resident Spotlight 2011: Gisela Insuaste

Gisela is a native New Yorker and is currently the Nature and Art Programs Manager at Wave Hill, a cultural center and public garden in the Bronx.

We have already told you about the resident's professional lives here, so we decided to get a little more personal. To learn a little more about them in and outside of the studio we have asked our residents to respond to questions on topics from art to late night snacking.

Here's what Gisela had to say about her residency experience...
