Pete Williams first solo exhibition in New York City

Closing reception Thursday, April 21st from 6pm-8pm

Pete Williams first solo show in New York, NEW YORK COMMERCIAL, features work inspired by journeys the artist has taken. Large woodblocks depict the view at the end of his daily runs back in Wales, while smaller lithographs explore imagery drawn from his trip to New York City and the outskirts of Beijing. Through the course of this exhibition Williams will also be creating a 6 foot by 8 foot American flag out of plastic bags containing red, white and blue objects. The finished piece, a collection of ephemera both gathered by Williams and contributed by visitors, will be physical representation of his experience in New York.

Born in London, UK, Artist Pete Williams is the founder/director of Print Market Project, a new Sculpture & Printmaking Workshop based in Cardiff, Wales.  Williams has exhibited extensively in Wales and Europe and has also curated numerous shows. Williams continues to live and teach in Wales, developing alternative printmaking techniques.
