MyNerva: Session 3

Saturday, July 13, 3:00-6:00pm

At EFA Project Space, 323 West 39th St, 2nd Floor

This event is part of Empathy Corporation, a presentation of A Blade of Grass and EFA Project Space's project The Hive, a platform for socially engaged art practices, featuring projects that expand the boundaries of art by seeking new ways to integrate into real life experience.

Intro - by Piero Passacantando

Corporate Body: tales from an anonymous life – Manuela Leal

Corporate Body will present a slide show of images from a working life, 2009-2010, discussing the threshold of bearable commuting, hearing hushed silences in post-modern skyscrapers, the american dream, meeting people's puffy faces in the bathroom while the security guard is waiting to escort them out of the building, wanting to do something that "said something to me about my life"; sort of like what Morrisey once said, wearing a suit at work then changing into vintage to meet the world dressed as "yourself", oh and quitting.

Interactive Movement Workshop - Maija Garcia and Forrest Lewinger

Interactive Workshop with Maija, director of Organic Magnetics – a theater organization that creates live installations using sustainable innovation. The workshop will be accompanied by and respond to a sound piece where Forrest will perform and augment field recordings he has collected at his own day job.

Collective Brainstorm Session and Microwave/Office Fridge Potluck to follow. Participants are asked to bring a dish to store in the office fridge, and to reheat it in the microwave if necessary. The food will be shared during the brainstorming sessions.

Space is limited for Session 3. For more information or to participate in this workshop, please RSVP to projectspace@efanyc.org.
