Join Us for a Reception and Public Viewing!

The EFA Project Space will be open for a reception and public viewing of the ideas, discussions, performances, and artwork produced during the two week long experimental student workshop, Acting the Words is Enacting the World - currently taking place in the space.  Artists Huong Ngo and Hong-An Truong, along with their 10 NYC students will host a reception of their work on Thursday, May 26, 6 - 8pm.  The gallery will be open for regular hours (12 - 6pm) on Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28 for a public viewing of the work.

Artist-led Experimental Workshop for NYC Students

The gallery is reserved for a two week long workshop in radical education beginning on Tuesday, May 17th.  Artists Huong Ngo and Hong-An Truong facilitate Acting the Words is Enacting the World, a workshop which will mobilize Brazilian popular education activist Augusto Boal’s techniques of Theater of the Oppressed to prompt students to engage with the economy in a series of intensive workshops, discussions and performances. EFA Project Space will hold a reception of the students' and artists' collaborative work on Thursday, May 26th.  The gallery will be open for two days of public viewing to follow.  For more information please click here.

Summer 2011 is Sea Worthy

Sea Worthy, the collaborative 2011 summer event, begins this May with workshops and screenings at The Gowanus Studio Space, followed by the opening of EFA Project Space's Sea Worthy: An Exhibition on Friday, June 10, and Flux Factory's maritime excursions beginning in July through September.  Join us for artist-led workshops, public performances, maritime inspired contemporary art, and boat excursions.
