This Friday:

Monotype with Bruce Waldman & Akua Inks

Friday May 17, 2013. 11 am - 3 pm

RBPMW Monoprint Instructor Bruce Waldman will be doing a FREE monoprint demonstration at RBPMW using Akua Inks, Revere paper and the new Akua Pin Press.
Attendees will have a chance to enter a raffle for a brand new Akua Pin Press (worth $235)

Akua Inks were developed by New York based printmaker Susan Rostow to deliver brilliant colors, intense blacks and unmatched working properties.  Akua Intaglio Ink will not skin over in the jar or dry on the printmaking plate or other equipment.  Akua Liquid Pigment offers extended working time and intense, yet transparent colors that are ideal for multi-layer printing.
The Akua Pin Press  is perfect for the monotype printmaker who needs a portable and affordable press. Monotype printmakers may not need the use of a heavy etching press, especially with Akua inks. The Akua Pin Press offers high performance at a fraction of the cost. Plus, you are no longer tied to your studio. The Pin Press lets you create monotypes at home, in the classroom, or on the road. The Pin Press was designed specifically for monotype printmaking. The roller is precisely machined to an incredibly even and smooth surface for uniform contact between the roller, paper and plate. Durable all metal construction made of aluminum and brass bushings insures long lasting, trouble-free printing.

Bruce Waldman exhibits extensively in New York City and beyond. He has been teaching at the School of Visual Arts since 1978, is a member of Board of Governors for the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, and a Director of The New York Society of Etchers. His prints are in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, The Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institute, Washington DC, The Royal Collection, London, The Hackley Museum of Art in Michigan, The Housatonic Museum of Art in Connecticut, and The New York Transit Museum.
