Last night marked the fifth in a series of conversations organized in partnership with CUE Art Foundation.  Titled "Living Dualities", this talk centered around the changing roles and perceptions of artists who work in the arts. Led by Tova Carlin in conversation with Man Bartlett, Rob Hult, Marisa Jahn, Scott Kiernan, Sophia Peer, Summer Pierre,Ted Riederer, Amber Hawk-Swanson, it addressed how and why these artists chose the jobs they have, how it feeds into their practice, ways they cope with overextension, and perceptions of success. Unlike some of the past conversations that focused on problem solving ways to improve the system, the focus last night was more about the wisdom that each individual could share based on his/ her own experience.
