Special Projects
EFA Project Space is much more than an exhibition space. In an attempt to support and expose the most current and dynamic activities occuring in the creative community, we periodically open our venue as a lab for other modes of creative discourse that involve live activity and interaction.
The Hive
The Hive is the next phase of the former Artist/Organizer series (see below), to be launched in 2013 in partnership with A Blade of Grass. The Hive will be a yearly series that provides the space and resources to significant projects that are non-exhibition focused, dynamic, interactive, and collaborative.
Artist/Organizer Series
This series provides the use of EFA Project Space in between exhibitions, and highlights the activities of Artist/Organizers —pivotal artists who, through the act of organizing, are compelled to readdress and refresh the framework through which we build community through artistic expression. May of 2011 marked the launch of this series with Acting the Word is Enacting the World : an experimental two-week workshop led by artist/educators Hong-An Truong and Huong Ngo who brought together a group of students from the five boroughs to participate in performances, interviews, and installations based on conversations around the economy, philosophy, and art.

Assembly Line
Presented in the Summer and Fall of 2010, Assembly Line was a hands-on workshop series that invited artists to propose projects for which they need group assistance to move forward, and then provided these artists with a team of volunteers for one evening. In return the volunteers become eligible to get an Assembly Line workshop dedicated to their respective projects.
