EFA Project Space
Opening Reception for The Book Lovers
EFA Project Space was launched in September 2008 as a platform for exhibitions, events, and related content exploring a broad scope of artistic processes and trends. While rigorous ideas and cultural relevance are essential to this program, at its heart is a wish for transparency, accessibility, and a deeper level of interaction between diverse artist communities and the public.
Art is directly connected to its producers, to the communities those producers are a part of, and to every day life. By providing an arena that emphasizes these connections, we bridge gaps in our cultural landscape, encouraging new interactions and the expansion of ideas. Through these synergies, artists build on their creative power to further impact society.
The goal of the program is to generate a cumulative and ever-adapting platform for considering diverse creative practices on an equal plane. We present exhibitions and programs in collaboration with a range of organizations, curators, artists and collectives--continually reaching out to the individuals and groups that actively shape culture today.
EFA Project Space is supported in part by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. Private funding for the program has been received from the Lily Auchincloss Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and Foundation for Contemporary Arts.
Please consider making a donation to the EFA Project Space Program. Your contribution will aid one of the most essential needs of our Program: funds to support artists' creation of new work.
